Anti Streptolysin-O-Titre

- نوع من انواع البكتريا من فصيلة  streptococcus يصيب اللوزتين .
- تسبب صديد على اللوزتين وزيادتها تصل الى القلب وتسبب مشكله فى عضلة القلب .

***الاعراض :
-- المريض يكون اكثر عرضة للانفلوانزا بالاضافة الى الم فى المفاصل وخاصة الركبة والظهر وعدم القدرة على السير لمسافات طويلة وهذا يحدث غالبا عند الاطفال والشباب .

Procedure :

-->Reagent must have the room temp. before use then mix gently .

1.Put 10 ? of serum in a black slide then put on it 10 ? of the reagent .
2.Mix and rotate the slide by hands in a circle direction for 2 min .

-If precipitation occurs the result + ve. and give titre  200 IU / ml  .
-If no ppt occurs the result is  -ve .

-In +ve case we must repeat by the following steps:

1.Serum diluted by saline by the ratio 1 : 1 .
2.Take 10 ? from mix and put on the black slide then put 10 ? reagent mix and rotate for 2 min.

-If -ve so the titre 200 IU /ml .
-If +ve the titre 400 IU /ml . and repeat by the dilution of last mix by the ratio 1 : 1 or dilute the serum directly by The ratio 1 serum : 2 saline .and so on till the result give -ve .

The Titre in this test  200  -  400 -  600  -  800 IU/ml  and no higher than 800 IU/ml .

IMPORTANT COMMENT:

-->False +ve result may occur in early infection and children between  6 months to 2 years .
